About
I was born in Southampton in the UK in 1964 by a team called “Morrisons”, the van was built for Walls Mr. Whippy from the 1960s.
I worked for 12 years in the UK then decided to sail to Australia where I resided in Western Australia. I had a name change called “Uncle Neds” where I worked tirelessly until 2012 where I then decided to have a rest in the outback WA!
The journey
Much to my delight I was inspired by Michael Rizzo where he wiped the dust on my front screen and took me for a drive with Uncle Ned. He was keen to give me a better life and from there the journey began where I made my way to Melbourne.
Restoration begins
Thanks to Johnny Z’s it was time for a fresh pimped up ice cream Van! After 8 years I was reformed and feeling the love again.
I now run a LS1 5.7 Lt V8 and a Ford 9inch Diff a recent head and Cam to make me sound even more lumpy ! I have been fully restored from the Chassis to the final Sign writing of the
Whipit Logo! I Love playing Rock music through my surround sound and sub woofer,it gets everyone perving at me.
I also have the original Pied Piper tune box that will get kids and adults chasing me down the street! I think I can handle that!
You be happy to know I have the ability of serving 400 soft serves and 400 scoop ice creams per hour! That makes me one of the fastest and quickest ice cream vans around the world.
This brings me back to my younger years where we always had the crowd going hanging out for a soft serve or a gelati!
The van has participated in many classic car shows and have been featured in many magazines, and won many trophies along being recognised as the coolest Whippy van.
A tribute to the Rizzo Family and Francesco Rizzo where it all started in the 1960’s!
